Blessed

The sixth Beatitude states, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). One of the traits that God greatly values is the characteristic of purity. Consider this in its context in the Sermon on the Mount. The previous Beatitude was, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy” (Matthew 5:7).
